Anything you dislike about the fashion/clothing of your gender?

Is there anything you really dislike or find annoying about the fashion and clothing of your preferred gender identity?

For example, I personally hate the little buttons on the collars of men's shirts and I hate how men's trousers like jeans and chinos are so often made of a really thick fabric. They aren't comfy at all.

I hate those little buttons when they're on dress shirts. On more casual button down shirts, I actually like them and think that they really help the collar stay in place. On a dress shirt I like spread collars (yes, I have to wear dress shirts to work every day except Friday)

Sorry FireSmoke, I have to disagree - plaid shirts are the best thing in the world! Give me all of yours if you don't like them! I'm not a lumberjack either

I also hate how nothing is designed for fat people like me, but that's a complete other issue. As far as other stuff, sandals drive me bonkers, especially when worn without socks. Eww. (Though most would say that sandals *with* socks drive them bonkers)

Guys that wear really short shorts and see-through shirts are also annoying - maybe because I don't personally have the body for that sort of thing, and perhaps because it strikes me as completely inappropriate even if you do to wear such things in public.

Pointless non-pocket pockets on female pants. Jeans especially. I like having pockets! Give me pockets!

I have a hard time finding much I LIKE because it's all so thin and sheer, and small. I'm sorry, why should I have to put on 3 shirts or more just to not show my oversized belly, or my bra?

I rarely find a plaid I like and when I do they don't stock my size. Plus I tend to avoid it because narrow minded idiots are likely to think woman with short hair and plaid shirt=lesbian.

I'm not a fan of sandals with socks but I have a bit of a phobia of gross feet. I wish people who don't take care of their feet wouldn't wear sandals.

    Welp, I'm genderfluid, so...
Girl clothing: I hate panties, pantyhose, bras, and high heeled shoes
Guy clothing: I just don't like that nothing fits. That's my biggest qualm. When I buy more guy clothing, I'm gonna have to shop in the boys department. *shakes fist angrily* Dinkleberg....
Oh, and plaid shirts always make me look like a butch lesbian instead of a guy. :frowning2:

Baggy trousers. Never in my whole life would I come close enough even to touch it!
Plus plaid shirts are also horrible.

Had to comment on this. When I wore girl jeans I had no idea what I was missing out on. Wearing men's jeans now, the pockets are AMAZING. Who needs a purse or fanny pack (lol) when you have these awesome pockets!? And cargo pants!!!! Thing of beauty.

On the topic of pants. I hate how my body fits into men's jeans. I feel very dysphoric about how my lower body is shaped in general but jeans don't seem to like to fit right. I have to show a picture for you guys to know what I'm talking about. Oh, and excuse my messy room. I have ADHD. XD

This is me holding the sides down flush against my legs:

This is what they look like the rest of the time:

It billows out on the sides under my hips and a billows a little bit under the crotch area :/ It's because of the way my hips are *sigh* instead of being all nice and inline like || it's all curvy.

    • necklines often too deep, I obviously got no boobs/cleavage so some shirts or tops look really stupid. Can sometimes be fixed with necklaces or scarfs.
    • pointless non-pockets (someone mentioned those already), so annoying!
    • glittery stuff (like rhinestones) on shirts - I'm not a fairy!
    Male clothing
    • shirts often look like potato sacks. Even if they're tight-fitting they make my body look like a bloody rectangle.
    • jeans are also terrible, hide hips hide curves hide butt hide everything!
    • BORING! No interesting colors, patterns or designs.
    • fabric texture uncomfortable (feels thick and rough).
    • more expensive than female clothing, WHY?!
    • shirts with buttons, I hate them.

DUDE I feel dysphoric about that too. Don't worry, you've actually got really flat hips. They're about the same size as mine, and my friend informed that she has cisgender male friends with more curves than me.... so I think you're good.

Don't worry, my room is messy as hell. I'm dyspraxic and basically incapable of keeping things in order

lymanclark, thanks man! That makes me feel a lot better about these crazy hips lol. But then my theory of it being because of my hips goes out the window haha! (not upset about that!) Don't understand why jeans do that then.

And how do people keep things clean? I can't wrap my mind around it. Though, I don't even know how it gets messy. I don't really notice it until someone says something or I see it through a camera like in this case xD

I hate basically any style of guy's shoes that aren't trainers. I hate loafers, those smart lace up shoes..ugh. And trousers with elastic cuffs at the bottom.
