I know a lot of us here are in the midst of plenty of struggle, confusion and pain. But I also see a lot of ECers pushing through the struggle and conquering. I would suggest that there are quite a few of us who deserve to pat ourselves on the back for the progress that we've made.

So, here's my self-back-pat: Back in April, there was a thread called "2014 goals," and I made a post there (http://emptyclosets.com/forum/2009853-post8.html). Now, even making a plan like that is a huge deal for me. I just haven't done that very often in my life. And I realized today that I've hit all but a couple of those goals -- pretty much a month ahead of "schedule"!

I've had it really easy this year. The only really hard thing for me to do was coming out to my (elderly) parents, and even that went far more smoothly than I could have imagined. Still: I made a plan and I stuck to it! To me, that is amazing.

I couldn't have done it without this community right here. Thank you all, so very, very much!

In case I wasn't clear: my hope for this thread is for a whole bunch of "I did it!" posts. 'Cause you know you did!

    Congratulations on meeting your resolution!

I never set New Years resolutions, but I did have several general goals I was able to meet.
    - Gain ten pounds (and keep it)!
    - Exercise more (4 days a week)
    - Modify wardrobe for more androgynous or masculine presentation

I have some other goals I'm still working towards, but here's to the ones I've met!

Wow, congratulations on your resolutions and goals, both of you! :eusa_danc

For me, it isn't as awesome as for you guys, but...
Before joining this community I had no idea that there were some trans women using wigs. I always assumed it was their own set of hair. In my everyday work it would be hard to let my hair grow as long as I wanted it to, so with a lot of thought I ordered a wig. It arrived today and I couldn't be happier. Now I know what it actually feels like to have long hair, and I love it! Now I feel beautiful (can't stop looking at myself in the mirror). (!)

As i said, this is not as awesome as the rest of you guys, but for me it's a huge boost to see myself in the mirror like this.

    PS. I love this community.

That's beautiful! Is it synthetic? It looks real.

I do musicals, and they always put me in wigs for those

Congratulations on meeting your goals! ^___^

I personally didn't make any goals at the start of this year, I didn't even know there were so many lgbtqa+ labels until my friend informed me last December.

In May, with the help of the beautiful people on EC, I realized I was genderqueer.

It took me a bit but a couple months after, I accepted my identity more and felt more confident about it to open up to other people about it.

I started routine body shaving soon after.

A couple months after, I bought my first ever skirt online!

A month ago, I bought a lovely women's top at a physical store for the first time ever.

And in the same month, I presented as female (in clothing, not makeup yet) at a friend's party.

I still have my doubts every now and then, and some days where dysphoria hits a bit hard. However, looking back on it all, I am amazed with how much farther I've come since having realized my true gender. I found that dressing up all pretty gives the happiness, comfort, and sense of self I need for certain days. Yay, me! ^___^

I guess my goals for next year are:

-Lose weight and get a more shapely, feminine figure.
    -Present in public more
-Buy more pretty clothes at more outlets, maybe even a lovely dress
    -Come out to more people
    -Grow my hair long
    -Overall, pass as female better

Wish me luck, because that's a lot!

That's awesome! Maybe we could set up another thread for 2015 goals?
