I'm a little worried about my job. As I'm not out, I work in a warehouse in an electronics megastore, and I've noticed (due to the fact I lift tumble dryers and stuff) that I'm starting to gain muscle and I don't like it. I like being skinny. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

  2. you can most certainly gain muscle but still be slim.
muscle will make you look more toned but it probs wont be visible probs cuz youre looking for it you can see it. doubt youll be gaining a ton of muscle just a little you wont end up like a body builder, besides perks of your job being stronger which is always handy for self defense if a situation where to ever arise somewhere.

the alternative would be to ask if you can change onto another department or something

Actually it does matter. Because there's heavy lifting Involved and she's a biological male (unfortunately) the shoulders will start getting broader.

Two years ago I spent three months working at a construction site and by the end my shoulders were much broader than earlier and it really hurt my self-image. Everything else is negligible but the broader shoulders--and thicker arms--that comes with heavy lifting is annoying.

There's not a whole lot you can do, though, if it's muscle. You can't really lose muscle mass the same way you lose fat. Muscle mass takes longer to dissipate. Hell, my shoulders are still broader than before I started working in construction and it's been almost two years. Personally I'm really glad I quit, but quitting might not be possible for you. I really don't know what to tell you

    Awww, damn!

I guess I've gotta continue until I find something else. But until then, I suppose it's not all bad; I can listen to music often enough and stuff. Glass half full.

Also, doesn't HRT help you lose muscle, if it comes to that?

I've read of runners being slower after only weeks on HRT. I'd imagine this would be a probability.

Yes, it will. But like I said, muscle mass takes much longer to dissipate than fat. But if HRT causes your body to stop putting on bulk in these specific areas it will eventually start to go away.

Muscles isn't the issue, broad shoulders are. Women generally don't increase shoulder width.

But it'll all work out in the end. Maybe you should even work at it throughout HRT so you'll remain muscly afterwards but in a more feminine way.
