Ok so I've recently came out to a few of my friends as gender fluid and that I'm changing my name to what I think it should be (a guy's name) My friends had completely accepted and the other was excited I can be myself around her and asked me what I'd like to be called. I said I wanted male pronouns but I don't know what name I would like. I was thinking Kyle since it's close to my birth name, but I also like several others. My avatar is me when I am a guy if that can help at all. Thanks for any opinions and advice when it comes to choosing a name. I'm also changing my middle name to Jay or something close to that so middle names that start with J would be great if you want to help with that to. Thanks in advance.

It's really difficult to help with names and stuff because they're so personal! But I'll give you a few ideas if it helps: Leo, Theo, Sky, Matt, Jack. As far as middle names go, for me I'd want them to mean something, like be the name of a relative or whatever. However if you want something beginning with J, there are always things like James, Jacob, John. I know they're pretty standard, but it's you that makes your name special, not the other way around

I am partial to Neal (Neil, Neel). But I may be biased towards that name because so many of my favorite people share it. Kyle is an excellent name, if you like it, and I think it would fit. An interesting variation is Kyler- sort of Kyle and Tyler mixed together or something. Do what your heart tells you! It must be so exciting, getting ready to choose a new name. So glad your friends were accepting!

I'm also trying to find a guy name for myself, but I have to ask to the people who have put their suggestions in:

Why do all the middle names start with J?

Most male middle names by tradition have biblical meanings..that is what I heard.
And many of the names that start with J such as John, James are from the bible.

Someone smarter than me can confirm that but that is what I have been told.

Some names I've always liked: Blake, Lance, Ian.

How about something more asexual like Lesli, Kim, Jesse, etc.?

Or go for something more "exotic" and European like Rolf, Jens, Zoltan...

Kyle is good! Especially since it sounds a lot like your birth name. Though, I'd stick with unisex names since you're gender fluid and not trans.

Shawn, Morgan (my name ;D), Taylor, Jordan, Kasey, etc.
