Just a quick question, before you start hormone replacement (mtf) should you put on weight or loose weight and also should you try to gain muscle mass or lose it?

You don't want to add anything.

When you go on HRT, fat eventually stops being deposited in the typical male areas and starts being deposited in the typical female areas. Fat that's burned off these typical male areas won't make it back, so it might be an idea to get a headstart on burning away that fat.

Muscle mass takes much longer to dissipate than fat, so if you want to work out to burn fat, try not to build too much muscle as it will take some time to go away.
