So, I've come out to my parents with...some success...but after a conversation with my mother I'm not sure what to do about my grandparents.
They're VERY right-wing and becoming more so.
I don't see them very often - usually for around 5 days maybe 3 times a year so I'm considering just not telling them.
But, I very rarely stay as one gender for 5 days without switching and I don't particularly want to force myself into acting as if I'm just male the whole time.

Basically I'm not sure if it's worth telling them or not.

I honestly can't swing you one way or another on this, because I have no idea how to come out to anyone. I would say wait until after the next time you see your grandparents. See if you can stay sane around them without them knowing.

But whatever you do, good luck!

As is yours! You are so lucky to have a girlfriend. I have only dated two people so far, and that was two years ago!

When you say right wing, what do you mean by it? Homophobia has sadly become synonymous with the right. But it is very often not the case, I am a head and heart Tory, however the Tories brought in gay marriage and the Scottish Conservative leader is a lesbian also.

As in opposing anything that isn't what they believe to be normal - It wasn't supposed to be a political statement just my attempt at getting across their attitude.
I honestly don't know what their attitude is towards the LGBT but the impression I get is that it wouldn't be good.

Honestly, I don't think it is generally worth the stress and frustration of having to explain these "newfangled" concepts to people who are very traditional (and close-minded). You especially don't know how they may end up reacting (we can only guess), so, if I were you, I would play it on the safe side.
