Hello all, Just wondering if there are any specific workouts which are especially beneficial or important for trans-guys, such as to look more masculine and strengthen the right muscles. Right now I do strength training every day (in order of most to least focus: upper body, core, lower body) as well as yoga. Admittedly, I don't do very much cardio at all. Know of any exercises I should put stress on? Or tips to creating a more masculine physique? Thanks in advance.
Exercises like pull ups can help your lats and give you that "v taper" that a lot of bodybuilders and athletic people have. Look into fitness channels like Buff Dudes who have videos on workout routines, how to avoid injuries, and nutrition info. Other than that, the most I can suggest is to keep up your work progress and don't get discouraged if you don't see changes right away (and by that I mean weeks and months because it takes time to notice major results).
Yeah, I know how that can be. Last year I worked myself out to death for six months and had essentially no results (I made progress in terms of strength but looked the same). It was super discouraging. Thanks for the info though, I'll check those out.
I like what AJ said. In addition I'd do shoulder shrugs to build led the neck muscles (god I forget the name). And take it from someone who is male bodied, you don't want to really push working on the chest (pecs specifically), since it would amplify your breasts protrusion. If you are having top surgery then go for it.
I think you mean the trapezius, aka traps, which is classified as a back muscle. Also, you gotta eat a lot of food, to put itbluntly. And dont do very heavy lifting before you gain some more weight, I would say.
What, exactly, is a shoulder shrug? Is that the actual name of the workout, and how do you do it? (I've been keeping an eye on this thread; this is stuff I'd like to know myself)
Can do. I was going to google it, but I wasn't sure if that was what the workout is actually called or whether that was just a colloquial term or not.
