I wondering the difference between transmasculine and a trans man. Same with transfeminine and trans woman.
Transmasculine is an umbrella term meaning any dfab person who identifies as nonbinary or male (not all dfab nonbinary people think of themselves as transmasculine). Transfeminine is an umbrella term meaning any dmab person who identifies as nonbinary or female (not all dmab nonbinary people think of themselves as transfeminine). They're both kinda like saying trans "in the direction of maleness" or "in the direction of femaleness" without necessarily being male or female. A trans man is a dfab person who identifies as male. A trans woman is a dmab person who identifies as female. I personally use transmasculine as my label because I'm not 100% sure how I identify. I used to / kinda still do identify as genderfluid between male and androgyne, but I'm not sure I really believe that. I might be just male or just androgyne. Either way, I know I'm close to being male, so transmasculine describes me without having to choose a more specific identity.
