Does insurance cover HRT? If not/so, how much would it cost? Are there any other fees to be aware of, or does that vary depending on how you get it? Also, how easy is it to get T via informed consent? Any help is appreciated.
Like Cauduti said, depends on insurance. The good news is that a lot of major insurance companies are beginning to cover transition related care. So far I know that Keizer, Blue Cross, CIGNA, and a couple others cover, not to mention a lot of the state specific low income programs (like the Oregon Healthcare plan). Without insurance it can depend on the brand of the treatment, how often it needs to be administered/etc but I'd estimate about $100 per month, give or take a little.
It also depends on what kind of T you take. I heard shots were the cheapest and gel was the most expensive.
