I love chickpeas and my dad has forbidden me from making chickpea curry for dinner again; it's got garlic in it though....

Almost all the foods that lower estrogen are foods I hate with a passion
Except for grapes and green tea

It would take eating a lot of these foods to notice any real changes. The idea of natural transitioning is one that in the end is usually not very effective. There can be some small changes, but that is really about it.

That's true, there's probably some more effective methods out there.

Ohhh, this thread, thank you for this thread.

Now I'm actually already on a natural transition diet (without all the shitty suppliments that you get information about if you look that up online, don't do that shit).
And I wanted to tell you, lowering estrogen works! I eat califlower, cabbage or broccoli to almost every meal (I love it as well) and since I started doing that I've get a much more androgynous shape. It's not like I'm changing shape, but more like that fat doesn't get stuck on female places so easily (chest, hips, thighs).
Something that might seem a little too much info but I think this is very important to other transmen; It can lower your period pains and the blood itself, not completely but definetly helps. Which is awesome.

Now if I would do proper work out as well and increase my testosterone that way I could probably accomplish even more changes. But I don't have mental energy to do that. So I'm sticking to food and swimming (still some kind of exercise) for now.

Write to me if you want good recpies

Edit: Raw califlower, cabbage, broccoli and all from that family of greens, is way better for lowering estrogen. It makes a great snack if you dip it just like chips as well.

Why must I be a picky eater? :frowning2: The only thing I would like that lowers Estrogen is grapes, and for Testosterone maybe I should start eating eggs all the time. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Note that this really doesn't do anything. So don't freak out if you hate eggs or bananas or whatever. You're certainly not going to sprout a beard after eating a cup of banana pudding (otherwise I'd be living on the stuff).

I agree with this, it'll probably help a little bit pre-e /pre-t, but not too much.

This is amazing. All my favorite foods and flavors are the ones I should eat. Even the ones nobody else in my family will touch like spearmint and soy or flax.

Wait! No! Mushrooms and green tea?! WHY?!

MtF people should be careful with plant estrogens, like soy. They're way way less effective than real estrogen, and any excess testosterone you have gets turned into estrogen naturally, and it's an either or thing, so if you have a lot of plant estrogens in you, your body will make less estrogen naturally, and the net result is that you'll end up more masculine instead of more feminine.

FtM people, since your body already has a part that does nothing but make estrogen, this unfortunately doesn't work in your favor; you are guaranteed enough to fill all your body's estrogen receptors and so the plant estrogens are a bit like whispering during a rock concert.

All that means is all things in moderation. Don't eat a bunch of soy hoping it'll do the trick. Lignans like flax are okay to eat a lot of, and they're good for your heart anyway; they won't make you grow boobs, but they can help you feel better if you're having one of those days. And suppressants like peppermint are of course good as well. Peppermint and green tea is the best thing for me to unwind with at the end of a long day. Green tea, like any diuretic, helps lower all your hormone levels. Drinking a lot of water can have the same effect. The more you pee the better.

Licorice is not so good for your heart in large amounts. In general do your homework before you start eating anything. Also avoid herbs in pills since the dosage pill to pill is random.

While people with thyroid conditions and other unavoidable weight problems like that can still have healthy transitions, probably the best thing a lot of us can do to get our hormones under control is to just be as healthy as we can be. Your brain reacting to stress, body fat, and your gonads are where hormones come from. The last one, most of us can't do a lot about. But the first two many of us can.

Even today exercise has been my most effective way to fight dysphoria. Especially if I pair it with good music.

No, no,no,no. Eating too much flax seeds is not safe--there's cyanide in that stuff. The doses are normally too small to do anything, but it isn't recommended to eat more than two tablespoons a day or you might end up hurting yourself.
