I have been getting more conscious of my voice recently, especially while sinning, in the fact that I sound way to feminine, and I really have started to hate it a lot. While I sound like I have a cold to my friends, I have started to try and lower my voice via speaking from my chest, but as stated, it just sounds like I have a cold and doesn't really work as well.

This posed the question to me, are there any ways you can lower your voice without having testosterone? Since I am still confused by my gender, and such, I don't think its the best idea to start hormones, heck I haven't even told my mum that I have been thinking about things as well.

I hope there are some methods, I really really want to be able to lower it so I don't sound as high pitched.

There are some videos on youtube you can check. In general the method is to speak from your chest, not your throat.

Speak from your chest. Just practice. Smoking also helps, though this is not the best idea. You can make your voice more raspy by drinking cold drinks with caffein in it, that's a similar effect.

noooo please no, all the things above only produce such effects because they damage your voice....

Watch singing lessons to learn different registers. MtF videos can also help to get a good perspective on top of FtM.
Singing lessons are best to learn the basics of control in a more professional way, and videos from transgender people are usually more about how to apply that knowledge in speech.

I can attest to that being a viable technique. I have a little bit of a feminine/"gay" voice... and because I was bullied in my earlier life, I learned to lower my voice and speak more "manly". Now I'm trying to un-learn, lol. But, that proves even testosteron is not good enough.
Men and women produce their voices differently usually, even if at the same pitch; of course there are exceptions but yep, it's chest voice vs mix and head voice.

Yes, you can definitely learn to. I am able to talk as low as a post-pubescent male if I want to (I usually don't because I haven't made it a habit yet, but it's possible) by learning how to sing, like Irisviel said.

Thank you everyone for the ideas, I really thought that I would be 100% screwed in the situation.

I think I will try to convince my parents that I would like to have sinning lessons, and for the minuet, just say that its to further my music studies or something along those lines. ( I do admit I have wanted to get sinning lessons for such a long time, but I just thought since I sing in choirs and such that I didn't need to bother)

Thank you all for helping out

You can start with youtube videos with singing lessons, that's what I did.

I managed to lower my voice almost an octave (My pre-transition/voice training voice was really, really fucking high) just by voice training. In general, speak from the chest and have proper air support when you talk. I'm not always passable when I open my mouth but most of the time, I sound young.

Don't force your voice to sound low. Just practice and start gradually.

^What type of sinning, eh? ;D

So I've got two ways that may or may not work. As mentioned above, talking from your chest really works. Try relaxing your throat as well (that works for me), and speaking louder, with more air.

    Also, hum!
Start at a low note on your comfortable range, then lower the note and hold it.

    Good luck!

Smoking, but it's not a good idea to smoke just to lower your voice.

And the exercises they mentioned. Takes practice. If you can afford it, there are specialists out there who will help you train your voice.

Try to sing on a lower key.

    Hmmm... Old age helps too.
