I changed my preferred name to Kellen in my school's system a while ago, but today my teacher said something about it being a girl's name. I know it's a bit more unisex than some, but does it really sound girly? I'm starting to worry about my name choice now, although I'm probably just being paranoid.

It sounds unisex to me  I say to go with your gut, since it's usually right, and to do what makes you happy.

I've only heard Kellen as a boys' name actually. I don't think it sounds girly at all.

Same, that's why I thought it was weird. I'm guessing what happened is she hadn't heard the name before, and since I'm not out to her, she assumed I was a girl and so it must be a girl's name.

It sounds like a boys name or unisex name to me although I've never known anyone called Kellen.

I even looked it up, only seen it used as a boy's name.

It sounds unisex or male to me. I googled it to see what the internet said and every link I found said it was a boy's name, and one said it "has possibilities for girls too". Plus, every person named Kellen on the wikipedia page for that name is a guy. I wouldn't worry about it.

It sounds unisex, but I would probably assume it's a guys name. I hadn't heard of it before either.

Thanks everyone, I think it was just a fluke. Though I am a bit surprised so many people haven't heard of the name :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
