My middle name is Renee and I was originally planning on keeping it and just dropping an "e" to make it the masculine form "René". Now I'm considering changing it partly so I can actually choose part of my name myself. My mom pretty much gave me the name Patrick as she told me that would've been my name if I was born male. The other reason is that René still sounds quite feminine in English though I know it is a commin male name in France and Spain. I also think my Irish first name might sound a little out of place with a distinctly French middle name. Any thoughts? I actually think René is a cool name for a guy, but I don't want to set off any warning bells if I want to be stealth, plus my other concerns. If I did change it, I would probably use one of my runner up names: Louis, Thomas, Scott, Nathan, James, Edward ---------- Post added 24th Jun 2016 at 06:36 PM ---------- Probably not Louis actually. I would like it as a first name though.
I like Patrick Scott too. Also I don't think people would question if you had a feminine middle name with Patrick as I think they would think that you at the worst have crappy parents if they even think Rene sounds feminine.
If this helps, my last name is one syllable. I won't post it here though. ---------- Post added 24th Jun 2016 at 06:47 PM ---------- Thanks, guys. I like Patrick Scott too.
Anything you choose will be fine. I don't think anyone's going to question your gender because your middle name sounds French. Patrick Scott or Patrick René, both sound great!
Patrick Stewart! Scott I like the most from your list. Rene is cool but I'm not sure if it's the best option in an English speaking environment, due to pronunciation.
