    tl;dr: Considering wearing a skirt on a date but I'm pre-anything and I've never attempted to look like a girl in public before.

    Hiya! Sorry for complaining, I just need some advice.
    I'm considering wearing a skirt in public (my very first public action!) for a date-ish bowling/ice cream thing with my It's Complicated, who totally knows and accepts me as a girl. As much as I want to, I'm really really scared!
    PROS:
    a) I get to be me!
    b) Important step towards transitioning, since I'm pre-anything!
    c) It's Complicated will know I cared enough to do so!
    CONS:
    a) What if I meet someone I know?
    b) I still look mostly like a boy, so I'm probably gonna freak out someone.
    c) My mum's a little uncomfortable and my dad kinda HATES my final revelation, so he won't be pleased seeing me in a dress.
    So overall I'm in full panic mode because I have no idea what do do D;
    Sorry to ramble. Advice?

    As long as you feel comfortable doing it, then go for it! It can be a huge step in feeling more like yourself and getting acclimatized to how you intend to spend your life. One thing you can do if your parents are problematic at all is change somewhere after you go out. Many people have to do that anyway.

    I have to agree with AmyBee, as long as you feel comfortable wearing it then go for it. I just don't know if bowling is a skirt/dress activity... Putt putt golf sure, but bowling I don't know.

    Yeah, bowling may not be the best for skirts but I did briefly date a girl who wore really short skirts bowling. So there's that. Maybe something with bloomers under it like a cheerleader?
