Hi, I identify as ftm trans. I currently go by Scott but I am unsure if I still like that name and really feel as though its mine. I have a few ideas for names but i would really like to get a person's input as what they think my name would be if they saw me. I am not out to my family yet but I have a letter written and I mention discussing names. It would be great if someone could give me some ideas. I have a picture of me in my album that is under the name of 'photos' on my page. Thanks in advance
I can't find the picture, it says there are no photos in the album. Maybe you have some privacy settings on that prevent seeing it? Or that's just me not getting it... It doesn't really matter though, because even if I saw a picture of you I wouldn't really know *you*. And I think only you know which name feels right. I'm a trans guy and use the name of my male OC I was cosplaying as when I first realised how right presenting as male felt. It may be hard for Finns to adopt a name like August so I plan to tell others to call me by the "work in progress" name my dad had for me when still in the womb and they didn't know my sex yet. It happened to be male and I don't hate it but it does feel weird. That name is actually derived from Tobias, which I like. I love my country but this language and names are a pain
The photo should be visible now. It was just under moderation. I would go with the name that you feel a connection to. It's ok if you go through a few names as well. Naming yourself is not really an easy process, and it can take time to find the name that suits you best.
I viewed the picture of you on your profile. You're very cute and I you already look like a young boy! Amazing! Scott is cute, but I prefer Scotty. I also think names like Alexander, Silas, Elliot, and Mason would go great with you! ^_^
I love Scott, on you or in general. That was one I considered. It's classic, masculine, and not a typical name transguys have. Ask your parents for suggestions though.
Obviously, the choice is yours alone. Scott is always good, but if you're just looking to add to your list of possibilities that you may not have considered: Brice, Ethan, Noah, Mason, Matthew, Logan, Brandon, and Ryan float to the top of my mind when I see your picture. (Assuming you aren't going to be wearing the dog ears and muzzle IRL:lol
I agree with Quantumreality. The choice is ultimately yours, but if you're just trying to get some imput I'm happy to help! :icon_bigg I think that the name Christopher (Chris for short) would fit you. Scott is a good fit, as well!
I really like Scott and Mason, both kind of unique and interesting! A lot of names are used really frequently amongst trans guys but I think these are pretty unique which is cool
