Okay, so this thread is pretty much the same as the one eko posted yesterday, but I thought it would be better to start my own rather than hijack his.

Basically I need a name. I really love the name Oliver, but I don’t like how popular it’s becoming, so I’m not so sure about using it as a first name anymore. I’d like a name that’s familiar, but not too common, preferably with a good nickname. Also, it can’t end with an ’s’ because that’s what my last name starts with.

If some of you could take a look at my selfie album (cringeworthy, I know) and drop a few suggestions of names that would suit me, that would be great.

The original first and middle name I was attached to was ‘Oliver Ryan’ and now I’m thinking about ‘Daniel Oliver.’ I think I kind of look like a Daniel or a Danny maybe? I don’t know lol

i think daniel/danny fits really well. other than that, I can see you as a cole? caleb? maybe mike/michael? maybe jake/jacob?

also, i don't think oliver is that common of a name? i only know one, and he goes by 'ollie', so really i know no one who goes by oliver

(ps: i am also a potato with hair much of the time lol)

(pps: just thought i'd let you know that i think you pass really well, at least from the pictures you posted  )

    Thanks for the responses!

@bluejay77: yeah I think Oliver is just now becoming really popular to name kids, but it wasn't popular at all the year I was born??? so i just have this fear of getting a summer job at a daycare or something and being like "hey, I'm oliver" and then having ten toddlers go "me, too!" I don't know maybe I'm just paranoid lol

Also, at least we can try to be hot potatoes with hair? And thanks!

I like Eric and Jordan, but I have close friends with those names. I did seriously consider Ryan. Maybe I'll have to put it back in the running?

Thanks for responding, makes me feel like there are real people on here and I'm not just ranting to myself on the internet lol

Like I said on the other thread, only you can really choose. You are the one who has to be comfortable with your choice. And I don't see anything wrong with Oliver. If you end up running into a whole host of young 'Olivers' at daycare, you just have something in common to bond with them over...

Having said that, I'll provide some suggestions if you want to consider adding them to your list of 'possibles.' When I look at your pictures, my first-impressions for names are, in no particular order: Carter, Alexander, Jayden, Jackson, Gabriel, Grayson, Landon And especially with the glasses: Jacob and Levi.

    If any of that helps...

    Best of luck!

Thanks for the input, guys! I think I will keep Oliver as a middle name, but I just can't see myself being called that. I'm really feeling Daniel I think. I don't know, I'll just have to try some out

Actually, Rickstarr's suggestions of Zach and Cody ring very true for me based on your pictures...

All I can think of with Zach and Cody is the Sprouse twins :bang: stupid disney channel
Also, I have an Uncle Cody, but I actually do like Zach. These are all really good suggestions, maybe I'll just have to use all of them and have like eight middle names??? jk

 There you go, 226! At your wedding they can ask "Daniel Oliver Zach Eric Jordan Ryan (last name), do you take (probably much shorter name of your spouse), to have and to hold...?"

Perfect! Then we'll hyphenate the surnames just to add a few more syllables
