So, for a while now I have been feeling very feminine and having dysphoria, but it really changed depending on whether or not I am with others. In my alone time, I feel very feminine, but when I am near others that while section of my personality shuts down. It is being very tough figuring out if I am trans MTF, just a feminine male, or bigender. Any thoughts in this?

Could it be some form of defense? However, if you want a better opinion, maybe you should tell us something more

Whenever I am with close friends and family, my brain sort of goes into denial. I am definitely considering the possibility that I'm just a bit too scared to be myself in public just yet.

Imagine that you could be as feminine as you want publicly without fear of judgement. Would you feel truer to yourself?
I think that a large part of me not realizing I was trans and not accepting that fact was based in fear because I had no idea how anyone would react. I'm more comfortable expressing myself with friends that I know are supportive, so yeah, your feelings make total sense.
