I was going to have my trans friend help with the injection, but they canceled on me so I decided "fuck it, I'll figure it out." After maybe twenty minutes of hesitating and watching videos and looking up instructions with my fiancee, I just did it. In my butt, not my thigh like I originally planned and I'm kind of glad I did. The thigh seems like it would be more painful, have more blood vessels, and not have enough muscle/fat in my case and I was afraid to hit bone D:. And my fiancee actually helped which was cool because she originally said she absolutely cannot be in the room while I do it, then she said maybe she can just disinfect the area and put on the bandaid, but then she ended up pushing the plunger down for me. I stabbed myself though, but I was surprised she could even look at it while it was happening as she is terrified of needles.

It actually did hurt a fair amount when I put the needle in initially (probably because I went incredibly slow), but once I got a little deeper I could hardly feel it. I guess there's a lot less nerves down deep. I was surprised by how nervous and hot and sweaty I got when I was doing this because I thought I had conquered my fear of needles. I had my fiancee turn the air up and get me a shot of fireball before I could go in much deeper. XD

I can still feel where I did it, but it doesn't hurt, I can just feel it. I already have a full beard and it has been about an hour. XD jk

    Wooo!

Congratulations man, that's huge! Today it's a butt shot, in a few months it's stubble and a deep voice!

For some reason I rarely hear of estrogen injections. Is that common?

Estrogen injections exist, but they're pretty rare because estrogen can be ingested. The only reason T is done in shots is because consuming testosterone at that volume is bad for the liver, so it's not prescribed in the U.S. I guess most trans women
    prefer pills to shots.

    Also, congratulations.

Dude that's awesome! This is making me excited for when I start T -- hopefully soon, though maybe not because parents haha

You may need to come out to work once you start growing your beard/deepening your voice though. It'll be all right.

Enjoy the upcoming transformation, let's hope for a smooth one for you!

Congrats, dude! And kudos for being able to do that, I don't think I ever would honestly; I'm not afraid of needles, per se, but the thought does make me uncomfortable.

It's been exceptionally smooth so far! I still have no idea what to do with work though. I'm hoping by the time it becomes too obvious I can start at a new job where they know me by my preferred name and pronouns.

That's awesome! Congrats! I've always done my shots in the thigh. It is just easier for me that way. I probably will need to move to doing them in the butt soon though, since I am getting some scar tissue in the thigh area.

How accepting is your workplace? If they have an HR person, I would talk to them about this. If not, I would try to talk to somebody that you trust. Depending on what dose you have started on, the changes may happen sooner than you expect. (Don't mention what dosage you are on though, that's against the forum rules.)

Well that's good. Pills I can swallow:lol:, but shots freak me out.

But good luck man, I hope your beard grows as full as a lion's mane!

That's great to hear! Starting a new job seems like a good idea, I'm planning on beginning to transition (still pre-T) once I start my new school, which I'm due to do at the beginning of next year. A new environment just seems easier: I can right away introduce myself with my preferred name and pronouns rather than having to convince a bunch of people I'd known for years that I'm actually a different gender -_-

    Good luck

    Thanks everyone!

So this is weird, but today I have developed a slightly sore throat all of a sudden? I wonder if that is a placebo effect. Or maybe I am coincidentally getting sick? Or is the testosterone actually doing something to my throat already? If so that would be nuts, I have been on it less than 48 hours lol.
