Just wanted to share something with you lovely people here on the forums, because I'm really happy about it and need to tell somebody :icon_bigg In quick summary, I'm a female-bodied genderfluid individual, and I'm unable to come out to my family about my true identity (which is fun, lol). However, my bandmate/current boyfriend has always referred to me as Kye (my genderfluid name) ever since I told him that I identified as something other than female, which was amazing considering my now-ex boyfriend mostly called me by my birth name. Then, when we started back at college this school year, my boyfriend encouraged me to come out to our group of friends, and so now I always get called Kye whenever I'm hanging out with them in and outside of class :333 I'm still getting used to answering to my true name in public, but it's an amazing feeling to then be introduced to a new person with your chosen name, and for them to know you by that with no awareness of your birth name So yeah, maybe it's not a massive leap into coming out, but at least I'm now one step closer towards finally becoming myself, and I am so freaking happy :icon_bigg (*hug*)
One of my fave nonbinary friends is named Kye. Great name. And congrats! Even if it's not a massive leap, every step in coming out is important (and they're all pretty awesome too, if they go well, cuz each step gets you a bit closer to being who you are).
Wow! I'm so happy to hear that you have such a supportive boyfriend and group of friends. I think your name sounds really cool!
Congrats! I know how great that feels even its use one person not calling you your birth name. Slightly off topic, there's an online comic that I like reading with a genderfluid person called Ky as a main character (it's called Rain and is by Jocelyn Samara if you're interested)
