it's subjective... that said I'm not a good judge of attractivness since I'm demi-sexual

I'm pretty sure I'll still be a bi girl.

Yeah IMO HRT cannot change orientation. It may change sex drive though... which in the case of going on T could potentially result in feeling like your orientation changed somewhat (by becoming more aware of what is physically attractive to you)

Definitely don't think so. I'm not expecting to suddenly become interested in girls because I've got testosterone running through me.

That being said. There are those who have started HRT and have realized they are attracted to men/women/other. Its not saying they weren't attracted before, but they probably weren't aware of it since they were dealing with their gender.

There's plenty of accounts of people who had their sexuality slightly shifted by HRT. I haven't seen any accounts of people doing a complete 180, but I, for example, am pan with a heavy preference towards femininity and in my case, it's possible that I'll start finding masculinity a bit more attractive. That's fine, though.

To be honest, though, I don't really see the big deal. Your orientation changed a little bit maybe, but how is it hurting you?

I was pan before I started, and I'm still pan now; even if my interests has shifted to one side a bit more.

I thought you meant attractiveness. In which case I'd say generally if you are attractive to begong with you will still be and vice versa.

In regards to sexual orientation changing, it happens all the time, but I don't really think your actual innate orientation changes so much as your perspective and comfort level. And on T especially, your higher sex drive may uncover some stuff.

My husband is extremely handsome as a man, the big rugged manly man type. When he transitions, ah, he said "Don't think Marilyn Monroe. Think Margaret Thatcher." LOL.

Yeah, this part I'm NOT looking forward to.

So you mean like how attractive you are? Idk if they are the same, but I've never herd it used in this context. And everyone else seems to think you mean sexual orientation.

Yes this is what I mean. If how hot you are stays the same.

I don't even need HRT to experience changes in my orientation. I fluctuate a lot anyway, with time of the month, seasons, and whatnot.

So yeah, hormones influence who you're attracted to. There are studies that show that sexual preferences of cis people change with their levels of hormones, like women being more into masculine men on ovulation and less so otherwise (more into "nice guys"), or more masculine guys with more T being more into feminine looking and behaving women.

well, im not on HRT yet. so i have no lived experience but a friend of mine who is AFAB and on T said a while ago they are starting to feel attraction to guys where they only were attracted to girls before, but they're not sure if the T was the cause of that or just a natural shift.

Hormones do play a minor role, but it's person dependant. I knew a trans girl that stopped taking hormones because she was finding herself becoming attracted to men and that bothered her greatly.

For myself my attraction to men increased but I'm still bi.

Well, right now I identify as queer, that is, asexual leaning gay. A higher sex drive and comfort in my own skin may shift things a little bit...

I'm hoping that the likely increase in libido does not bring to life a more intense sexuality. I happen to enjoy being an asexual virgin whose mind is scarcely ever bothered with that aspect of life.

I seriously doubt it. You may feel a bit more of a sexual drive, but to do a complete "180" as someone has already said, seems highly unlikely. Plus, you would want the hrt anyway to feel more like the person you were meant to be right? So maybe your sexual orientation may change slightly.. You'll be comfortable in your skin right? You'll feel more like the correct gender, yes? I don't see the problem.

I would say no, some trans people look better after transitioning and others worse, this is part of the risk that we take when we choose to transition. One thing to keep in mind is that different people find us attractive after transitioning which complicates matters further.

As it stands straight men and lesbian women are the people who find you attractive. After you transition it will be straight women and gay men. This is one of the problems that we face if we already have partners when we choose to transition, they often stop feeling attracted to us and we lose them as a result.
