Yea, into guys mostly, girls its a bit more difficult to pin point my prefferences or feelings. But mostly attraction to guys.

 

I am gay but asexual. So, I am attracted to men but have no desire for sexual activities.

I have talked to a few cis gay guys about how they feel about the idea of dating a trans man (this was before I was out, and so I feel like the answers they gave were therefore relatively unbiased). Everyone I talked to was comfortable with the idea Most of my gay friends said that they tended to be attracted to 'maleness', rather than strictly cis male bodies, so they would definitely date a trans guy (including early on in transition, some of them even said pre-everything). They said they are attracted to the male brain rather than the body. Yay! It is very reassuring for me to know that. I mean maybe I have a very nice group of friends, but I would hope this is the case for the vast majority of people too.
[I'm sorry if some of my wording was clumsy, I just re-read my paragraph and somehow it feels a bit strange, don't really know how else to phrase it though.]

Was a time when I thought liking guys meant that I couldn't possibly be trans. At the time the whole "knew since childhood, attracted to women" stereotype was heavily pushed.


As for cis guys. There use to be a lot of threads popping up on this site with trans male asking cis guys if they would date trans guys. The majority of them said they would so long as they had at least started hormones, a few said they would even if a guy was pre-everything, but of course there were a small handful who said no.

On dating apps(just call them hookup apps because that is all they really are these days) it seems you will find a lot more guys who will say no.

 

I'm gay, I know a bunch of other gay transguys, probably moreso than straight. I'm in a relationship with a cis guy atm and it can be difficult, especially when they don't know a lot about trans people in general but as long as you click, there's trust there and he's willing to learn and understand you then it can work.

My experience is the opposite to Ryan's it seems. On one dating app I'm out at trans and I've had maybe 20/30 guys messaging me seemingly interested (that's how I found my current partner). I also had ****** where I'm not out but after people pop up and we talk for a while I tell them, I've come out to about 15 guys on there and not one had a problem with me being trans. I just suppose it depends on the kind of person. You just have to keep trying if it doesn't work out at first, don't let it kill your confidence. You'll find someone that sees you for who you are and loves you for it.

I don't really know many gay guys irl. My one good cis gay friend said he'd date a trans guy, and I believe him I think, but it was the first time we were hanging out and he was pretty sloshed.

I'm also gay trans guy. Still no luck in finding anyone, though.
