well I met with her this morning around a couple issues, and then we chatted about my transition and I gave her my list of "needs" and she was totally on board. she said she checked with the EAP program, without giving my name, and they have supports that they can bring to bear if we need them and she told me that I have the total support of the management team. however, she did say there are several in my office who will be "problematic" and while she didn't name any names we both can probably name them. but she assured me again that the management team will back me up. I feel soooo good.:icon_bigg

It's great you have the management team on your six! You'd be surprised what the threat of possibly losing your job will do to keep people from being such a "problem..."

hey Brooke, I wouldn't get fired, but if management isn't on your side, the fight gets so much harder if you know what I mean.

My principal and superintendent are on my side as well as the other 3 teachers I'm known to. Let's see about the other 90 staff and 950 students come April 4.

I was referring to your co-workers. If management is on your side, it's amazing how uiet it'll tend to keep the naysayers.

we have a couple arseholes, and a couple conservative/evangelical religious types, plus some who are just narrow/closed minded. but there are a few, who I hope will be allies.
