I picked the name Quinn because to me it sounded genderneutral and that's the type of name I want. However recently I've been questioning it and feeling like it is much too feminine. I was wondering whether Quinn to you sounds more masculine or feminine or neutral? I'd really appreciate the input. Quinn
Sorry to ssay, but when I hear the name Quinn, I think of a girl right away. Now that you bring it to my attention though, I can imagine a guy having the name too..
Well I definetly see Quinn as girl name. But I know a girl character named Quinn so that is maybe why. But as PrinceVegeta said, a guy can definetly have this name too.
I see Quinn as a completely masculine name. I guess it depends on the individual person and whether they know someone with that name already, that'll sway the gender they relate the name too.
I've only known one person named Quinn irl and it was a guy. But a lot of people might think of that Daria character who is a girl. I see it as more masculine myself. Like short for Quincy or Quentin.
Yeah Quinn is masculine but not super masculine. Technically it's gender neutral but if I hear the name i think of a man, though as anthracite said, not a super masculine man.
Sounds pretty neutral to me. I know ones or two girls name Quinn, and one or two guys named Quinn, so it balances out pretty nicely. Whether people read it at feminine or masculine really just depends on their personal experience with people who have that name.
I love the name Quinn, especially on a guy. It is a gender neutral name. With all gender neutral names people typcially assosciate it more with one gender in their head than for the other, just based on people they know with that name. For instance if someone says the name "Sam" and your sisters name is Sam it would make sense that you associate it more as a girls name, but if you had a brother named Sam the opposite would also be true. But it still a very masculine sounding name. I like it.
Hi dear name-twin I picked Quinn because of similar reasons and I've been going back and forth on how confident I feel with it. What I found out is that Quinn was first a boys-name and then became a girls-name. Appareantly, it's more frequently used for girls in the US and more for boys in other English-speaking countries. To me personally, it sounds perfectly gender-neutral. But as I don't live in an English-speaking country, I also don't know anyone called Quinn personally.
Same. It sounds masculine to me. Then again, I thought Ashley was exclusively a boy's name until I watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, because I'd only known boys named that.
