Hey! I came out to my family a few months ago and was lucky for all of them to be fully supportive. But my mom is worrying about the costs of the (srs) surgery which I plan to have within a few years. I showed her websites which have listings for the prices o many different surgeons but she is concerned about any extra costs- hospital stay, anesthetic, etc. She is not worried such that we won't get it done but rather whether an employer insurance we recently found out pays for it is worth looking into rather than a higher paying job. It depends on if you have insurance, if your provider will cover you. Transition costs can easily exceed $100,000.
i have never thought of the money side before. Its shocking that its such a high figure, in the uk not sure if it is on the NHS or not but for most people that is a sum that would take a life time to reach
