    A few people
    It is the belief that you can choose to be LGBT and be so, but in a more positive way than anti-LGBT (hence choosing to be so). People might do it simply because they hate the gender they are attracted to or because they've experienced abuse by the gender they're attracted to (which is why you'll see more straight female QBCs). It's similar to the Lesbian Separatism movement in the 1960s, where straight women thought that by ''becoming lesbian'' they were supporting LGs but in reality they weren't.

    Not sure if this is what the original poster meant, but this is what I got from a google search.

    Scientifically though, you cannot choose your gender identity or sexuality. This is biologically hardwired in the brain and hormones released in the womb.
