Gender identity disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm gonna have to meet up with the gender therapist in town eventually and i'm hoping someone has some advice for what to do when I get there... as I have no idea on what to ask or say... or even to expect...

Anyone able to share some advice or stories with meeting up with one?

I wish I could help more, but I really don't have the background to help you.

You might want to write down what your main concerns are, and take it with you.

I like the sound of that, writing a note would probably be the best thing to do as I would have a lot of trouble trying to use words...

I'm pretty well versed. PM me if you have questions. There are other mtf girls on here who can be a good resource as well.

Well, since it's probably going to be uncomfortable to talk about to begin with since I'm assuming you rarely to never have talked about this with anyone. You may want to think of how you would answer basic questions like, "how long have you felt that you might be transsexual or why it is that you believe you might be transsexual."

Also the first session might not be crazy in depth. It will serve as a chance for you and the therapist to do things like get to know each other/build a rapport, identify why it is you are seeking treatment, maybe set treatment goals and address any questions/concerns you might have.
