Changed my gender on Facebook.

    So I finally changed my gender on fb from female to male. The one thing that was holding me back was people's reaction, I've kinda hidden it from my family (because I haven't come out as trans yet) but my ex girlfriend noticed and was happy for me, and even encouraged me to changed my profile pic to the same one as my avatar is here saying that I do pass as a guy in it, so I'm pretty stoked :slight_smile: I also told my best guy friend that I'm trans, he was super cool about it even though its a bit weird for him because he is super inlove with me and we dated for a bit when I was still in my "is this attraction or jealousy of guys?" period. (He is the last guy I dated so he can note that down and stick it in his pocket :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:)
    All in all things are finally starting to come along, getting a referral to a gender psych in the next few weeks, so I'm feeling like this dark place that is my life is starting to get some light.

    Congratulations. I remember doing this kind of thing. For a lot of my friends it was very much an "about time" reaction. My family was all sorts of confused and blaming Facebook for acting up. And others...I have no idea and don't care. But I know that it can feel really good to just have your correct gender posted up there. So I'm quite happy for you. And good luck with the gender psych. :]

    Congrats. That's huge! I'm glad to hear that you're going to be seeing a gender psych. I've been seeing mine for about a month now and its been great. I know what you mean when you say it feels like the darkness has lifted. I've been feeling that too. :slight_smile:

    It has already, but more do do with my pic change, a few of my friends have liked it but my older brother commented "are u gangster" on it (he doesn't know I'm trans) and is always pulling the fun with my short hair :/ gotta love family. *sigh*

    @AlexisAnne: that's awesome that ur seeing one too, I'm super scared and excited and would love to know more about ur experience :slight_smile: msg me.
