    Hey ec,

I was wondering this question and thought that the ec community may have some useful advice on the subject.

Is it disrespectful or offensive in any way for a trans* person to legally change their surname?

    Thanks in advance,

    J

    Possibly offensive to your parents

  3. I agree with Sheena, but then again it depends on the parents as well.

^ This. But, also, if it wasn't, straight people couldn't get the same name legally.

Yeah, perfectly legal. I myself might change it to my pen surname if my parents don't come around.
