Well, what kind of credits do you have already? From none, a bachelor's degree is usually about 4 years. From an associate's, 2.

I think most Universities (If that's what you're attending) offer Honors programs. This will allow you to get more credits while still covering required courses. But they tend to be more difficult and require a lot of dedication. I don't know if the price changes. I'm not in college yet so my input is rather limited.

It really, really depends on how many credit hours you take. Full time, for my college, was 12 credit hours, but you were allowed to take up to 18 credit hours. Still, if you're doing a specific program, chances are they'll have the program already set up with little room for variation.

I suggest going to the college's website and looking at their programs. It should tell you, about how long. Otherwise, you'll have to e-mail the registrar or a counselor.

It just took me 4 years to get mine. Some do it in 3, other 6. But on average 4, if you stay on top of your schedule and make sure you take your required courses on time.

Mine took 5, but I changed majors, from Sociology to Biology to Economics.

Also, I took some CLEP exams that my school would accept for credit in lieu of taking actual classes. For instance, I took Analyzing and Interpreting Literature which cost me around $80 to take the exam at the school (check the testing department at the school your interested in once you enroll because you can't actually "earn" credit until you're a student at an institution that will take the CLEP credit and convert it to actual college credit). That exam is very easy for those who can read a poem and analyze literature and such (others are harder, and your mileage may vary based on your strong suits). I got 3 hours of credit for my Literature core curriculum. If you're able to pass 5 exams, which will cost you about $500 + maybe books, and the time it takes to study the practice books, you can save yourself an entire semester (15 hours) and thousands of dollars worth of tuition.

My only regret is that I could have gotten "As" in these classes, more than likely, so I could have had a higher GPA and graduated summa cum laude instead of magna cum laude. Missed it by .01 :bang:.

Changing majors or credits not transferring sometimes is the reason for 5 years instead of the standard 4 years.

1.) First do your credits for your program you have taken transfer?
2.) If so are your grades sufficient for credit? Some schools don't allow credit unless grades are sufficient even if you passed.

If so, and you don't change your major, then a total of 4 full academic years will earn a BA or BS.

If you do 30 credits per year, 4 years. That said, many people take longer.

I hear CLEPs can get you out of a number of credits. Or you could start off at community college and work your way up from there.

In terms of which program to choose, I know my school has a translation program, so I assume others do as well?

    Good luck!
