    I'm 17 and I've never been to a pride parade before. . . I went to a pride party today at a bookstore with some friends, but they don't want to go with me to the parade tomorrow. It's the NYC one so it's going to be really huge.

    Is it bad if I go alone? I'm afraid of feeling weird or awkward.

    Read my info. I'm alone, and I'll always be alone, yet I still want to go to AtlantaPride this year (I live far away from Atlanta now, so I might not make it).

    Alone =/= unfabulous

    If you are able to meet new people then go for it. You never know what you end up doing.

    so I went and it was a lot of fun!!!! I bought my first flag, and took lots of pictures.

    thank you all for encouraging me, because i was heavily leaning towards not going before. I didn't feel awkward or anything; i think it's probably more fun if you go alone actually, because you get to decide what you want to see without worrying about boring your friends.

    Don't worry.... just go and enjoy. The crowd is so huge that people won't even have the time or energy to notice whether or not you are with anyone. I've been to pride alone once. And it was probably a lot smaller than the NYC one. It was boring but fine. Nobody gave two hoots that I was alone. HAVE FUN!
