So I was diagnosed with depression.
There's one thing the psychologist said that confuses me.
He said that I most probably got it kind of my entire life and also had symptoms in my childhood.
The thing is now why didn't I myself or also others notice something?

I mean I thought a few times about that but never serious.
And I never questioned that I would be "normal". Well, at least mentally healthy.
I felt normal. I thought I was normal and that others also would feel this way. Ok, therefore I never questioned it.
And the day before yesterday when I was diagnosed just screwed up my view of myself.

So I'm asking, why didn't anyone notice?
What are your views or opinions?

I think nobody notice it since it is hard to notice?
Others Can just think is your personality.
I didnt even know i had depression until i read about it and thought about it for a long time. I really mean long time and such, and i'm sure of it, it's weird when it is yourself that have a mental illness of some sort.
Going to a psychologist soon to Get help, of thats what you call it.
You dont really notice depression yourself i think, not that i know much about it, just My own experience. It feels like i have never been without depression at all, like it's who i am, but it's not. Noone around me thought of it, not even My doctor thought of it even if The Signs was right there all The time.

And I still can't believe it. But whatever.
I mean, the symptoms were there and stuff.

    I'm just confused.
    But thanks for answering!

Depression is probably one of the most invisible problems a person can have, especially if they don't know they have it and think the way they feel is normal.

If you've never known/felt any different, how would you know it was a "problem"?
You don't know what feeling "not depressed" feels like, so you don't miss it or crave it.
