How do you know if a snake is in your house?

I know this is a peculiar topic, but my anxiety is literally consuming me

This evening I heard a hiss when I was in our family room (specifically near the sofa)

It did startle me, because I thought it was the bug I discovered last night.

But I decided to ignore, now fast forward a couple hours later and my sibling hears a hissing noise, this time near our kitchen, which is diagonal from our sofa.

She described it like it came from the outdoors, while I describe it the complete opposite.

We live on a apartment high above the ground, if that helps.

I just need to know, so I can calm myself

watching for snake poop? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'd otherwise say set a trap somewhere visible, but it's hard to bait a trap with a live mouse, and that's assuming it's a type of snake that will eat that lol. But if it's been this hard for you to find so far, even if there is one it probably won't give you trouble.

I don't think I've spotted poop in our house, and I'm glad I haven't because it looks disgusting! Σ(ಠิωಠิ|||)

I would do that, but my family believes I'm overreacting and reassuring me, so I can't purchase a trap sadly ( p_q)

That's refreshing to hear, because I have this massive phobia of snakes, (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

Thank you for your advice! (ᅌᴗᅌ* ) I feel better now!

omg. I hope there isn't one and it's just a really loud bug that likes to move around...yeah. *shudders* I hate snakes.

I'm hoping that too! But I live in a high ground apartment and I heard the chances are slim!

It's just really hard to sleep now because of it, I need to sleep really bad.

Go get a broom and around lightly, i dont know if you have a box or anything to trap it temporarily! Thats what I would do, I would want to find it, not the snake finding me!

Hopefully it is a bug though! Good luck!

Maybe I'm alone but I'd rather find a snake, assuming it's nonvenomous, than a huge bug. Sorry about your phobia OP; I think snakes are cool.

But to reiterate I doubt you have a fugitive serpent hehe.
