I'm rather upset right now. I was browsing the Internet on my Macbook Pro when out of nowhere a terrible porn website appeared. It was not at all good. The problem is the computer that the advertisement popped up on was my school computer and my school tracks activity on it. I was also logged into my school gmail account at the time and I am not authorized to clear browsing history on it. If my school does notice they will remove my administrative access on my computer or just take it away, which isn't fair because none of this was my fault.
you can selectively delete individual page histories? even though I am sure they will not notice .. or bother.. if they ask - and it was a real pop-up… you can say to the school exactly that. It was a pop up and you had not searched for it they should understand. In fact if they ever trace the URL .. they will be able to see it was a pop up type page and you did not ask for it deep breaths
thats crazy dude, i didnt think that could happen on a school computer or atleast have never heard of it but weird, your not on break
I wouldn't sweat it. My son was bringing up all kinds of weird searches, and the school never said anything (like "spanking young girls") Oh, and there was one incident where a girl was obsessing on him big time, emotionally blackmailing him, and then threatening to commit suicide, at the beginning of 8th grade, all on the schools email accounts. School didn't know at all. They have the history but don't have anyone assigned to look at it.
can you just report it to the system manager, so that they know that you didn't access it on your own?
Or better yet, bring it to them first. If you are the one who considers it a problem, they will help you fix it rather than be suspicious of you.
I agree with this. If you wait for them to come you, it will look like you're just making excuses. but if you come forward and report it, then it will make more sense. of course, if it keeps happening, they will get suspicious.
