I've got the option to change my name on the role at school to my preferred name, but I have to email them about it and I haven't spoken to my parents about it. I'm not really even sure how to START the damn thing. I have the schools email address, but I don't know. Any advice as to what I should say in it?

Well, no matter how hard, you ought to talk to your parents about it.

    ****
    To whom it may concern,

Please have my name changed on the school roster to _______ from ______.

    Thank you,
    __________

You don't have to explain anything to them, they'll ask if its a problem

Thanks Kindy14. It really was just the beginning I was stuck on.

Now just to talk to my parents about it .-.

Cool dude! I want to do the same thing. Don't you need a legal name change though? How did you convince your parents?

Nah, my school has an option for preferred names. I'm fairly certain a lot of them do, but I haven't spoken to my parents about it yet, it's just me having to build up the courage to do so.
