Yeah... I wouldn't even consider myself cute or pretty, but my brothers and my dad just can't wrap their heads around it...assholes.

In contrast to the thread about girls who call gay guys a waste, I don't see it as an actual insult. Just personal disappointment that their chance with the person went from >0 to 0. There was a girl in my high school math class who was incredibly smart, cute, and likable, but had a keychain that said "Sorry boys; I eat pussy." I have no idea how she got away with having that XDDD but it was kind of a letdown hehe.

From what I've heard they don't actually say this, but rather that they would fuck them, violating their sexual preference. And this I find just as annoying as any other form of ignorance.

You know, that is like, the stupidest thing I ever heard. And yet I think I heard it a lot too.
It is just...you know, reducing a person into whether they are viable for a relationship, or more likely, viable for sex. It ignores all the other wonderful things a person could do to another, like being friends or teaching new things or telling great stories, sharing great thoughts, and such.

 

I know, it's horrific! I'm so sick of people saying things like that. One guy begged me to tell him why I would "choose to go lesbian". And he still hasn't stopped flirting with me!

 

I don't know. I don't think it's that big of a deal. I think most of the time, people say it as a joke - sort of a lighthearted way of expressing "I think you're really great, and if you weren't gay I would love to have a shot with you." (which can mean a shot at a relationship, not just hooking up). If anything, I think it's meant as a compliment. Obviously, if people are getting into the zone of saying you chose to be gay, you're doing it on purpose, etc. or persistently hitting on you, that's a different story. But just saying it's a "waste" when gay guys and girls are gay seems like it's usually a joke. I wouldn't read into it too much.

I don't think (most) guys mean it as an insult when they say a lesbian girl is a "waste." I've personally never used the word "waste," but I understand why a guy would say it. After all, if a girl is really cute and attractive, but a lesbian... the fact that she's cute and attractive become "useless" to guys, because they don't stand a chance anyway.

Right. I don't think I made that sound any better, haha. Anyway, I think most of those guys mean well, even though it may not seem that way.
