    Hi!

I may be some stranger from the internet who you don't know...yet. I just wanted to pass on some advice to anyone that is going through this. I have to point out, I am NOT!! a specialist of any kind or a doctor or whatever, I am a person like any of you who overcame anxiety/stress.

I have actually debated in my head talking about this, because I didn't want to sound like a douchebag that sounded like he was spouting out a lot of hot air. The one thing you should know that my way of overcome it shouldn't be taken as bible or fact, because everyone deals with anxiety, stress or even both very differently. I overcame it by looking at this video on youtube called 'fun with stress' or 'fun with anxiety' it was with this guy called Elliot something, the way he expressed it was quite crude, but it made alot of sense. For me, I noticed I held a lot of tension in my throat and jaw, which people often do. So whenever I feel anxiety or stress I just go into a corner or put my down and discreetly put my first two fingers where the bone joins to the jaw and ear, and put both thumbs on my chin and hum. It does take quite a few goes. To me, it felt like someone had taped my jaw to my throat. When I did the few goes, i felt my throat and jawline relaxing, it felt amazing. I noticed I was breathing better and I was relaxing a little better and enjoying thing more, rather then feeling constantly nervous.

There are a lot of things that could work for you:

    Hypnotherapy
    Counselling
Seeing a therapist or psychologist (You should only see a therapist or psychologist if you feel your anxiety/stress has gotten too much and you feel like you loosing control of yourself).
    meditation
    yoga
    doing exercise
    doing something you enjoy

There is one or two things that I would suggest that would or might work for you, but you have to feel what works for you, rather then agreeing my comments. I would to do this message is because anxiety/stress is not a killer itself, but it can grow into something that could be dangerous or even kill someone, i.e. LGBT suicides. Other things, i.e feeling isolated, feeling like nobody understands you. The last thing to remember is people do not rationalise or think logically when they are going through this. It's better to think "What is scaring you?" and do not force yourself to do something, but say yes to something that you want to do. So, please don't feel like your alone, because there is at least one other people or a million people know what you are going through.

Yeaaah, I watch him now and again. I think thee best way to release is to scream, like Elliot himself said.

    Interesting thoughts.

Whenever I try to overcome anxiety I just convince myself I'm excited not nervous. It helps quite a bit.

Thank you Notlad, I just wanted to speak about it because I have noticed people who I know or knew didn't want to speak about it to speak or even stopping me talking about it. It shouldn't be something to be ashamed of because we all have it in different ways.
