My method of talking to a girl I like is starting a conversation with her, making it clear that I am interested in what she has to say while at the same time being careful not do or say anything to suggest that I might like her. Of course, that has never gotten me a date. On the bright side, I don't think I have ever had a crush seriously suspect that I liked her (yay?).
