advice on how to cope with suicidal thoughts?

    Sometimes distracting yourself with something really involving -- like a video game or really good book can make it go away for a while. Sorry you're feeling this way. You're not alone, we're all here for you.

    I forced myself to be with other people, I didn't have to talk to them. But being in another person's presence did take away my mind from myself. I also tried to do something productive, just simple chores, such as doing dishes. That was how I cope with my own suicidal thoughts.
    It might not look like it, but it will get better :slight_smile:

    Think of something you want to do in the future, the farther away it is, the better. Will you be able to do that if you suicide?
    ^kept me from suiciding a few times.

    Idk if this is good advice but... Honest opinions beat lies?? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
    I'd say just get all ur friends (real/close friends) and let loose for the night
    Or if ur like me and have a lacking in friends, grab some paint cans, ur iPod and just spill out the shit ass thoughts on some fence (maybe somewhere there's already street art so ur not crossing the line too much on respect) or something :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    Are you seeing a therapist/psychiatrist? Gender dysphoria has left me wandering that corridor at least once... I'll have psychiatry soon though, I hope that will help.

    Also, distractions are good, like Ophelia said, but don't sink too deep into them. I literally lost myself in them for years.

    The ways I cope with suicidal thoughts:

    Have access to a counselor
    Never be alone when you have these thoughts
    Be connected to an LGBT group that meets face-to-face in your community
    Post your thoughts and feelings on this forum
    Go on youtube for a guided meditation
    Hold a pet or stuffed animal
