Afraid of people mistaking me seeking support for wanting attention...

So I was looking up why some people discriminate and hate transgender people because I was worried about being discriminated against when starting HRT some time and coming out to more people some day.

One thing that really bothered me was a story about a guy who has a transgender friend who is a really attention seeking girl. That made me worried because I do not want people mistaking me reaching out for support for attention seeking, in fact I do not want to draw much attention, I just want to pass as a girl.

I do not know if anyone had any issues related to this type of situation and any insight into this would be really helpful...

Unfortunately, some people are just going to think what they want. If your approach is one seeking friendship or support then others will get it and be there for you. I wish I could give you more but have no experience with your situation but I bet there are some others here that will have some good advice.
