Theres this guy I really am into but he's in a grade lower than me. Personally, I am in 8th grade and he is in 7th grade would this be bad in any way? I really don't want this to be something that will affect me or him long term in terms of illegal stuff...
Dude you should be completely fine. In high school it's 100% normal to date a grade or two above or below you. It's not illegal in any way. One year's difference won't make that big of a deal at all. Don't feel bad!
Hahaha, start worrying when you become 18 years old. It's perfectly fine from where you are right now. Just live in the present. One year's really not that different. It's perfectly normal at this point of stage in your life.
Hmm, well, I wonder why this is crossing your mind. When I'm in love EVERYTHING seems totally right about it. Is there something else that is making you apprehensive? I think at your age you sit between both worlds a little bit and that can be uncomfortable at times. Do what you think is right and when in doubt do what you think is best for yourself and for the other guy. Your concern speaks well of your character. I think you can trust yourself to do the right thing.
It is perfectly fine; however... ...one thing I would warn you about is "sexting" (if your relationship ever comes to that while underage). While states generally protect minors in relationships with other minors against molestation charges, some states have no tolerance laws for "child pornography," and some states have tried minors for possessing naked photos of their partners and even of themselves, listing them as both victim and perpetrator of the "crime." So be careful if you ever decide to do that!
You are perfectly fine and don't even think about it. Nothing wrong at all! Nice to see I'm not the only one from Illinois!
My partner and I are only a year apart, so you are completely fine. Age gap starts to matter when you are seeing someone in a position of power, or for me, a general rule is that if they are 10 years older than I am, then they may be too old for me.
