I have a pretty good relationship with a teacher at my school, being there for 7 years we've talked a lot and dealing with my issues with my mother, I've been happy to chat to him regarding the situation. Recently he's been really pushing for me to go speak to the school counselors. I don't like the counselors.

I know that it's rude to make your mind up about somebody before adequately conversing with them but from my limited interaction, I can firmly say that I believe they are phonies and I do not want them knowing anything about me.

I don't want to jeopardize the relationship I have with the teacher but I don't want them to keep pushing as they haven't responded to what I thought was being firm. I don't want to be rude, help please.
