(NO I'm not thinking of doing it at this age  ) What would you guys say are the pros and cons of working in the porn industry as a performer? I know that the money is good and as I'd consider myself attractive (or at least attractive enough) and enjoy sex I'm seriously considering doing a few shoots next year when I turn 18. This is all for personal gain since there's a lot of stuff I want and would like to do and I see this as an opportunity to achieve this (As bad as it sounds  ). My only concern is that it will bite me in the ass later on in my life... what do you guys think?
Pros: - Pay is pretty decent - It gives you publicity - Guaranteed sex Cons: - Your family might not be too happy about your life choices - Your emotional stamina might fail and lead to a meltdown - It's not as stable an income source as other careers - Youth does not last forever - Even with routine testings, STDs are still a possibility
Fair points... I see where you're coming from. However I'm not thinking of doing it full time, just occasionally so I can buy nice things  . Plus I sincerely doubt emotional struggles as it's just sex right?
A question that has to be asked is. Do you have a big dick? That and being thin is all you need. According to what I've heard. You don't have to be attractive for straight porn but do for gay porn. Also I'm not sure there is much Welsh porn. The UK government hardly encourages porn.
Some people can handle repeated sex with multiple people, some people can't and end up breaking down. Depends on your personal threshold.
I'm not even sure if I could distinguish Welsh porn from any other UK porn (though I imagine it would be good :icon_bigg) but maybe if you could make it tasteful, you could get an arts grant from the lottery if the government aren't supporting the industry. Also remember that a porn history will stay with you for life, which could be troublesome if you become a celebrity, teacher, MP, police officer etc
I'm not sure about the pay being decent, it is only for renowned studios. But those are very picky when it comes to the models. You have to be very attractive and have a big dick. Some people can't handle the pressure of prolonged shoots so they quickly burn out or get hooked on performance enhancing "supplements." And there is the possibility of getting an STD because many scenes even today involve barebacking. Other than that I don't see any negative sides. You can always keep your temporary job separate from your private life. I've heard that many lone wolves nowadays make live shows for pay on cam4 and similar sites, so you can always try that first before going into the industry.
Yea I can see where everybody is coming from. Do what you want, with the guidance of your head. I'd just be careful, because the "it's just sex" could lead to a disconnect in pleasure of sex later in life, when you want to enjoy it. Just sayin'. Best of luck!
Up to you. ^^ One thing I will add though, is that I've heard that a lot of porn actors/actresses severely regret having done porn later in life as society will slut-shame the life out of you. That's a risk to keep in mind.
Personally I can't really think of any plus sides for working in the porn industry. How much is the "good pay" that people are talking about here? Personally I would require minimum of $200/h before even considering it.
Pay is not as good as you think it is unless you have a spectacular look, and even then, competition is fierce. Additionally, the industry (with a small number of notable exceptions) has moved away from condom porn and most gay porn these days is bareback. Even if everyone you've been working with is tested *on the day you work with them*, there's no guarantee that they have not been recently infected, as it takes about 15 days for the most sensitive test to register after infection... and during that 15 days, the person is at the highest risk of transmission because that's when the virus is replicating out of control. Add to that the fact that the majority of porn performers, particularly ones willing to bareback, tend to be pretty promiscuous... and you have a pretty high risk of contracting HIV from barebacking. Even with condoms for anal, porn often requires high-risk activities, such as facials, where semen getting in your eye is about the same risk as unprotected bareback sex. So... from the perspective of your own personal safety, it's not a risk I'd take. Then there's the issue of the producers you're working with. There are a lot of really shady people (and also some good, ethical ones) in the porn industry, and it's hard to know who is who.... you can't often trust what you are being told, as their goal is to get you to work with them. The shady ones can put you into really uncomfortable positions of not letting you say no to things you aren't comfortable with, pressuring you to have sex with the (usually old and unattractive) producers, and in some cases, encouraging or requiring you to take various drugs (from Cialis to amphetamines or benzos) to "help you perform better" or "relax" or something. More than a few people have gotten started down the road toward addiction this way. Another issue that many people do not seriously consider at 18 is the permanence of the decision. Whatever you do, once you sign the release and take the money, you and your penis and your cumshot and whatever else... it is out there forever. Your content will likely be posted and reposted on a bazillion free porn tube sites, so it will be available for anyone to see 5, 10, or 25 years in the future. It's pretty likely your family and friends will eventually find out one way or another. And if you are ever in a job or position that puts you in the public eye... you can bet that somebody is going to unearth your porn history. Now... in 2016, so many people admit to watching porn, and so many people have done porn, that it is not nearly as stigmatizing as it was even 5 years ago. But people still get fired, demoted, not hired, or otherwise discriminated against for their work in porn. Basically, at least for me, when you weigh the risks against the (not very large) potential paycheck, I don't think the pay is really commensurate with the risks and future doors it would close, and it's not a decision I'd feel comfortable recommending in most cases.
