Today when I gave my gerbil fresh water, he drank from the bottle for a REALLY long time. Normally I refill the bottle every day. However, recently I adjusted the bottle so that it was a little less tilted down, because I thought it would be easier for him to reach ;; But I think what that actually did was make it so that water barely came out of the bottle... I forget when I adjusted it, so I don't know how long its been like that...

He took a long drink and now he's active and running around, eating, and being his normal gerbily self. I'm still worried though... I know that gerbils are desert animals, but could he really go that long with so little water? It's been at least a week I think. I know water was coming OUT, just not a lot of it... from now on I'm going to check the water flow of the bottle every day.

Do you think he'll be okay?

I think he'll be fine if he is displaying signs of normal healthy functions now.

It sounds like he was getting some water, but maybe not enough. Now you have adjusted the bottle he has access to as much as he wants and needs, so he should be fine. If he is running around and seems lively you're probably okay. Just keep an eye on him for the next few days and if he continues to drink excessively speak to the vet.

Thank you guys so much! He's acting normal, so I'll continue to keep an eye on him but not worry myself into the grave this time haha.
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me!
