need to travel for interview but don't have money

    An employer has called me for an interview but I don't have the money to travel. Also the weather is bad in my area and they don't advise it.

    Could you suggest a phone interview? If you have weather advisories, i don't think they can begrudge you asking for this. You could emphasize that you are, indeed, interested in talking to them and hope that won't mind accommodating you in this at this time. This will also give you an idea of what type of employer they are. If they say "absolutely not", do you really want to work for someone so inflexible?

    If you can't travel anyway, what have you got to lose by asking?
