    Hey!

I'm gender-fluid, anatomically male while identifying towards female. I need to get my hair either trimmed or cut, but I want it to look more feminine than anything. Sadly, it's already short. It tends to be styled like Jeremy Renner in Marvel's The Avengers.

Do any of you have advice on how to make short hair more feminine, if possible?

    Hi Balloonwolf!

I've been having a similar issue with my hair for years. I've always wanted something more androgenous but short doesn't look great on me.
If your hair is really that short I'm not sure you have many options other than to change your part. I think a part way off to the side looks more feminine.

What do you think of these styles?:

In general it looks like cuts with longer bangs and pieces around the sides of the face along with the side part create a more feminine look for men.

A pixie style looks cute and feminine. OTOH you might just have to wait for it to grow a bit.

The problem with my hair is that when it grows long, it gets curly, and fast.

Ask for side swept bangs, face framing, and to take out some volume!

Do you not like it when your hair gets curly? I think the cuts described here look great with straight (no pun intended!) or curly hair.

I know the feeling. My parents don't know that my being genderfluid is the reason I've been growing my hair out. I do need to go get something done with it, it's kinda starting to get to male hippie stage 1, and a pony tail doesn't really look good on me. I have a picture I downloaded from another forum (a photo of a user of that forum) of kinda what I'd like to look like, but I don't think it's be right to repost xir pic here.

    Balloonwolf,

I am genderfluid with curly hair, and I have a mohawk. Of course, mine's not very long yet, but I am growing it out. I do think, like some posters have already said, a pixie would be really good. Short hair can really go either way, which is great. I also agree with the notion of bangs. The longer ones are pretty feminine, and having short hair is easy to maintain. My hair is curly and gets dry easily, so I don't recommend using a straightener without some kind of leave-in conditioner.

    Best of luck!
