HOW do i ask my barber for a HITLER YOUTH haircut...

    well my entire day has been ruined with what is the most hideous hairdo of the 21st century.

    i can't go back there, i haven't got the balls to tell them - hey look now, you didn't do what i asked (well, it's kind of my fault since i feel too uncomfortable to give precise instructions, i.e., hitler youth please! perhaps things got lost in translation, and instead of keeping it short back&sides, it was short back&sides and on top - it all seems the same length now, just very unflattering.

    on top of that, i have 2 barbers, one of which i think is jewish (the one that gave me a bad haircut). he's a lovely fellow (apart from being an extreme homophobe but that's another story...), i'm sure he wouldn't get offended, but i just don't want it to come out wrong (i'm always a little nervous when i go there, i'm not assertive enough).

    has anyone had any experience of this? how do i tell them? i'm too shy :'(

    no really, i have no links with that side of the political spectrum, i just really like the style, everyone's doing it these days, i can't seem to find an alternative name for it, though.

    curtains! that's it! i had that in the 90s, middle parting and all - yuck. but i want the fringe long so i can play with it ;] i swear next time i'm going to march in there and tell him i want curtains, for my hair.

    I suggest bringing a photo of the hairstyle as backup if your barber isn't aware of it. It could be a printed photo or just on your smartphone. I do this when I go to my local barber so that he has an image rather than just having to recall the hairstyle. You pay the same price - with or without showing the photo - so it's better to make the haircut worth it by getting it done correctly.

    that sounds like a good idea. i've always been worried about coming across as too keen, i always pretend like i don't care how my hair is, but after spending money on garbage i've learnt the true value of money! i don't think he knew what i meant, perhaps if i just be more upfront, give an example, then he'll get it.
