Its been nearly a year since my last fit, and I am sure everything that has happened in the last little bit is what is throwing me off again. Apparently, when I went to the doctor, he said 'my case was out of his control', and that I had to many disorders for him to handle ( CRPS, Bipolar Depression, Genger-Questioning ) and is sending me to see a Psychiatrist. Now I'm seeing a physiotherapist and a psychiatrist... I don't know how much of this I can take... I just feel so confused and lost...

There's nothing wrong with seeing a physiotherapist and a psychiatrist. And for the love of god, don't hurt yourself. There are alot of people who don't what you to hurt yourself. I know I don't.

Your doctor was probably just overwhelmed with a unique scenario he'd never encountered before with all of that at once, in my opinion. Please feel free to talk to us about anything that's bothering you, even if you don't expect answers in return (though we'll do our best!), if you just need someone to listen who cares. We both do. ^-^

It's probably no different than being sent to a Surgeon by your Doctor. All you are getting is specialist help. You are only crazy if they will need to strap you down and feed you masses upon masses of medication to stop you screaming you are the son/daughter of God. Considering you are able to use this forum I highly doubt that is the case. ![]() Best of luck with your therapy ![]() |

It's most frequently used to indicate something or someone that is irrational or delusional, but is sometimes applied to almost anyone with a mental illness, even though most mentally ill people are not delusional. Being sent to a psychiatrist isn't a bad thing, a psychiatrist has more training in mental illness than a general practitioner has, and is therefore better qualified to help you than your GP is. I'm definitely glad that my medication provider is a psychiatrist and not a GP; I need someone who has knowledge of the complex way that medications can help improve my various symptoms. That said, psychiatrists are not therapists. A psychiatrist is unlikely to have the time to help you with your gender questioning, or with managing your manias, depressions, and chronic pain during those times when the medication isn't fully successful. All of these should be addressed by a psychologist or counselor. Medication can only take you so far, and can't really do much at all for gender problems until you have a very definitive idea of what the problem is. In any case, welcome to the mental health community!

Location: Orange County, California, USA Age: 19 Posts: 1,790 Join Date: Apr 2008 | When I broke up with my last bf for a while afterwards I had a lot of anxiety like, normally when I'm anxious I sweat... but I was getting sweaty (/anxious) just sitting in class... Anyways just saying you're not alone... stressful events can cause many psychological things to happen... It's good you're seeing a psychiatrist (and physiotherapist?). It just means you're going to get the help you need. We all have our own baggage... don't feel weird or anything. It will get better... especially since you're getting help! Just don't give up hope. Wait it out... things change often and quickly.
