Default Sinusitis

Has anyone else ever had to be degraded and humiliated by the joys of sinusitis?

I literally cannot lay down without almost fainting in pain, and feel like someone has clamped my face with something. The doctor has looked at me and given me antibiotics, steroid spray and told me to carry on with decongestant inhalations etc. They have given me even stronger painkillers and told me that if I am still bad in a week I will likely be sent to the hospital because there is a risk it can spread to other tissues and the bones.... basically if I forget my pills I could end up with meningitis or osteomylitis which I don't want.

This is absolute torture? Anyone know of anything else that I can do to help myself? If not then hugs will be appreciated xx

~Saline nose spray (Ayr and Ocean are 2 brands sold in the US)
~Push the fluids
~Advil Nasal Congestion pills
~rest
~As long as it doesn't interact with your meds, take a Benadryl or 2 at bedtime if you have trouble getting to sleep.

I will try the other spray, they have me on beclometasone dipropionate at the moment. Fluids - I drink like a water deprived camel upon entering an oasis. I have the benadryl, or equivalent on repeat anyway for other allergies so taking that regularly anyway. Cant have the nasal congestion pills anyway because of other problems.

And omg thank you so much for saying rest. I actually have felt better from it. My doctor said rest but my family keep telling me I am being lazy xx

I have had plenty of sinus infections. I have always taken a decongestant such as sudafed. I also took a nasal spray so I could breath. With the nasal spray you n=only want to take it for 3 days. If you take it longer than 3 days it can be harmful and you can get a rebound infection. Also take your antibiotics. Take it with food as not to upset your stomach.

Hope you feel better!
