Not sure what to say, it'll probably end up as a meandering rant but I'll try to seperate the 'about me' from the whole sexuality stuff [much of which is reiterated from an anonymous thread I started already.]

I'm twenty-one and I currently live in Central New York. After two years of community college, I'm trying to get motivated to find a job so I can start saving up money to move away. I feel like my interests are limited, or that I have trouble focusing on them these days, but include books, history, art, classical music [I listen to other stuff but not nearly as much as anyone else,] and especially film. I've become more and more interested with the last one over the years particularly after joining a film forum, MUBI, and having made a number of acquaintances/friends on there and with Facebook/Skype. However it seems there's a neverending amount of films [American, foreign, independent, old, new, yada yada yada] to catchup on. Ideally, I'd like to move somewhere [like Seattle] and get involved with the film community there, getting experience working on other films while hopefully preparing to make ones of my own someday [which there's no rush as I've seen some filmmakers start fairly late in life.]

At the moment, I've been confused for some time about my sexuality. In the past year or two I've really begun seriously questioning it, though I've been curious since around probably ninth or tenth grade. However, aside from one crush on a girl in high school [which, in retrospect, I think was due to her personality and our mutual interests] I haven't had any serious ones or felt strongly attracted to other people other than, at best, appearance-wise but even then probably a passing sort of thing. I've always been shy and withdrawn, not really making any close friends until later in grade school [even then, I think I was/have been somewhat distanced] which has made it harder for me to understand where I fall. I've viewed porn, straight and gay, so I know I'm not necessarily turned off by either but I think I'm more drawn to the latter and have been watching more of that recently. And having seen/read various LGBT-related videos, articles, films over the years, I have thought of the possibilities of meeting other men and having relationships with them but felt it wasn't valid since I never had any sort of connection with anyone, one way or the other, that could've signaled what I am. At any rate, I came out to one of my online friends a couple weeks ago who's been accepting and supportive, encouraging me to discover the LGBT community here. I found out about a center in the city nearby which I want to go to when I have the chance. I'm still a little nervous about this, as no one, as far as I'm aware, among those I know or have known is gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc. and I'm not used to talking about sexuality of any kind in a serious manner with others. If only a small step, I hoped that joining this forum would be a step in the right direction.

Sorry for the rambling post. Hopefully I'll become more active here over time and feel less like a voyeur.
