I drove my son and wife to the airport at 5am; they will be in Vancouver for 10 days; my daughter is at my in laws beach house; she's going on to Vancouver next week. I am alone, except for Max, my little dog. I don't think I've been alone on a weekend in more than 20 years. It's really quiet, odd, not so bad if I'm busy. Is this the future?

I hope you can enjoy the time alone. I suppose you may have more time alone on the weekends, but if you don't like it maybe you can make plans to go out and/or have people over to your place. For the most part I rather like having my time on the weekend after a long week at work, but I'm used to it whereas you're not so I can imagine feeling a bit lost. Take care and make the best of it if you can.
